On Friday went and saw Connor Rand and the Red Dirt Band at Smith's and it was outstanding. This place probably has the best acoustics/sound guy of any venue in Atlanta. Always a great place to see a show. Beer could be cheaper though. When a 16oz PBR for $4 is the best deal you know you're in for an expensive night. I don't ever remember cashing out my tab at this place and not being angry.
Went to the Buckhead Saloon on Saturday night. Different musical experience all together from Friday night. Friday I got original country rock and the Saloon brings it's standard college cover band atmosphere. Both are good but compeletey different. I gotta give the Saloon guy credit, he's one hell of an impressionist. He absolutely nails Perry Farrell on Jane Says and then he turns around and sounds just like Johnny Cougar on Little Pink Houses. Much cheaper beer too!
